The Green Bit

At Sellotape, tape is made using the Hot-Melt technique because they believe that this method produces less waste and is more environmentally friendly. Any solvent used to make the release coating is destroyed in a thermal oxidiser which ensures that no dangerous or harmful gases are released into the atmosphere. In the process of converting any harmful gases into clean air, heat is produced from the thermal oxidiser. This heat is used to power the drying oven. Please always ensure that aisles which have industrial or mechanical equipment passing through or near them and also aisles which lead to emergency exits or have difficult to see openings are clearly marked with floor marking tape.

I’ve always wondered why when you walk into some big buildings, say shopping malls, supermarkets and such like, what on earth is that tape on the ground for?
